Danilo Baracho, Director, DOP & Editor
Danilo is a Canadian-Brazilian filmmaker, producer, and writer. His short film “Los tomates de Carmelo” won the Grand Jury prize at the prestigious Brazilian festival “CinePE Festival do Audiovisual” in 2017 and had special mentions at 38th Semana de Cine de Autor de Lugo and 29th Mar del Plata International Film Festival. His films have screened at festivals worldwide, including Guadalajara International Film Festival, Bogota International Film Festival, Leiden International Film Festival, Tanger International Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival and Edmonton International Film Festival. Danilo is an alumnus of the TIFF Talent Lab, Reykjavik Transatlantic Lab, and the TIFF Writers’ Studio 2018.
John Balabik, Executive Producer
John Balabik is an award-winning Executive Producer and Development leader. He is passionate about building emotional connections, by earning and maintaining loyalty with audiences, through intelligent, impactful, inspirational, empowering and entertaining stories. Prior to his role as Executive Producer at The Box Factory, John worked for Cossette, McDonald’s, Dome Productions, Groupe Média TFO, and Alibi Content just to name a few. A seasoned Executive Producer and Development professional, John uses a consultative, persuasive approach to educate clients in the creation of compelling content. John is a writer, an actor, and a graduate of the world-famous Second City comedy improvisation school. A relationship builder, he authentically uses humour and an outgoing personality to help content providers tell their stories. Fun fact: John played the role of the Charmin Bear in a U.S. Super Bowl commercial that was voted "The Worst Super Bowl Commercial of All Time!"
Steven
Ejbick, Sound And Mixing Engineer
Steven is a Canadian Screen Award winning and Gemini Award nominated Toronto-based sound engineer with specialties ranging from theatrical releases to broadcast; he has vast experience working in corporate and commercial media, TV shows, documentaries, reality-based series, and web releases. Steven has a reputation for producing high-quality technical and creative audio productions, both on location and in post, and offers a comprehensive multimedia experience for a variety of requirements.
David Shin, Producer
David has been passionate about films since he was editing his own as a kid with two VCRs. Fast forward decades later and earning a keep in engineering, business and tech along the way, David rediscovered his creative itch after managing marketing and brand direction for Acentury, one of the fastest growing companies in Canada. After creating and editing a number of corporate and non-profit videos in 2019, David co-produced a branded documentary short for a startup Cannabis company. David joins the Box Factory in early 2020 with dreams of producing many more films, starting with the co-production of a documentary that profiles the rise and journey of Canadian junior tennis players.
Ramon Vasconcelos, Still Photographer
Ramon is a graduate of Architecture and Urbanism before finding love behind the lens. Ramon has been taking pictures for as long as he remember, from the snowy experiences in Wisconsin where he lived for a few years, to his frequent travels while he globe-trotted. He perfected his craft for many years as a stills photographer in Brazil, firstly in the largest magazine publications in Brazil, followed by a role with one of the main TV channels in Latin America.. Ramon resides in Toronto, Canada with his family.
Innes Hung, Camera Operator
Innes has a life-long love for photography and cameras, with a more recent passion for film. He’s an avid softball, golf and ball hockey player with a strong desire to capture every moment he can to showcase the physicality of sport.
Innes joins the Box Factory in 2020 and has high hopes of pushing his art to new levels. He embraces new challenges and projects with a relentless drive, and is committed to pursuing his dream of creating film productions.
